In the stunning foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, a Territorial-style home unfolds into a unique story of its owners’ love of the Southwest, of light, and of color. Hand-knotted rugs weave color into every room, serving as both inspiration and foundation for the rest of the design, all of which embraces the shimmering light and desire for delineated spaces. Local blacksmiths and craftsmen built one-of-a-kind elements, from fireplace tools, to cabinets, to beds, each designed to accentuate the home’s personality, singularly and collectively. Deep textural layers define the home’s interior, creating an environment that plays with the owners’ histories, honors the home’s surroundings, and incorporates a warm and welcoming look to everything, from the kitchen to the outside seating areas.
