Mountain Respite
John Kitts
CEO, Angel Fire Resorts
A high-end RV resort in a mountain valley embraces a sophisticated take on regionalism for a fresh lodge look. A pervasive and contemporary sense of place derives from a color palette founded in the woods and meadows surrounding the park, combined with patterns and textures evoking bison, tepees, and local botanicals. The typical heaviness often found in mountain interiors, is turned upside down with a focus on lighter finishes and furnishings that conjure up an organic contemporary direction and include driftwood benches and mirrors, concrete and steel. Exploring and exploding the idea of an RV park, the design honors the environment and the varied activities and adventures to be found in the area, resulting in not only a place to stop for a few nights, but a part of New Mexico to explore.
